Description:
Small understory shrub that produces white blossoms and edible fruit. It is one of the earliest blooming plants in spring and is commonly referred to as Shadbush, because its flowering conincides with the annual migration of shad in our rivers. Flowers in April/May. Prefers moist, neutral to acidic soil. Can tolerate clay but may not do as well. 6′-20′ tall. Full sun to shade.
