Protecting & Exploring the Pinelands
Our Mission & Purpose
The Pinelands Alliance was founded in 1989 to protect New Jersey’s 1.1 million-acre Pinelands National Reserve and its surrounding communities through collaborative action, research, and education.
The Alliance is committed to making natural areas in this region more accessible for all, promoting science-based conservation, advocating for policies that protect the forests, streams, and farms in and around the Pinelands, and building community.
Together, we can ensure a greener future for the Pinelands and for New Jersey.
With Pinelands Adventures and Nature: Accessible for All, we help people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities explore nature through health-giving recreation – and so develop a genuine devotion to environmental protection.
Through Rancocas Creek Farm, our regenerative vegetable farm, we are developing an array of projects and partnerships to increase sustainable farming and bring healthy food from local farmers to all South Jersey families.
We are dedicated to furthering justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion in our staff and our work. Everyone should have access to recreation, clean air and water and the scenic beauty the Pinelands provides. Pinelands Alliance does not discriminate on the basis
of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability in its program or activities. Read our justice, equity, diversity and inclusion vision statement. test
Help Protect the pinelands

The Access Nature Initiative was established to generate awareness and produce public discourse for equity, inclusion, and accessibility for individuals with special needs and disabilities so they may gain the overall benefits of outdoor recreation and nature-based programming in New Jersey.
