Description:
Beautiful Pine Barrens perennial that naturally grows in wet soils and bogs. Four magenta to pale pink petals surround a cluster of elongated bright yellow stamen that dangle like a beard. To 2 feet tall, but usually up to 1 foot in height. Blooms in second year of growth, late July through September. Prefers wet, acidic, sandy soils and sun. Great for a bog garden.
