Fighting Federal Environmental Rollbacks: Demanding our Right to Clean Air, Pure Water, and a Safe Climate

Date: Wednesday, June 4th, 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM
Location: Nature Center of Cape May, 1600 Delaware Ave, Cape May, NJ 08204

Join the Pinelands Preservation Alliance for a discussion on securing our constitutional right to life’s most basic necessities in New Jersey with the Green Amendment. Green Amendments establish a constitutional mandate recognizing pure water, clean air, a stable climate, and healthy environments as the inherent rights of all citizens. This is an informational meeting led by PPA.

Come voice your support and concerns, and feel free to ask any questions about the Green Amendment. You will learn how you can support the movement and about other ways to combat the federal administration’s attacks on the environment.

The text of New Jersey’s Green Amendment can be found below:

SCR-43 (Senate bill)

ACR-119 (Assembly bill)

New Jersey’s Green Amendment was originally introduced in the assembly in the 2016 – 2017 session. It is a proposed amendment to Article I of the New Jersey Constitution which first must make it through the legislature. The resolutions in both the state senate and assembly are currently stalled in committees. While more co-sponsors have signed on, ultimately, we are not asking our elected leaders to vote on whether we have these rights.

We are asking them to get out of the way and let the people of New Jersey vote through the ballot.
