Roots of the Pinelands: The Remarkable Trees at the Center of It All – Webinar

Share:

April 27 @ 12:00 pm 12:30 pm

The pitch pines and Atlantic white cedars of the New Jersey Pinelands have stood for centuries. But today, they face threats unlike anything before — and the window to protect them is narrowing.

Pinelands Alliance invites you to an important presentation on the ecology, history, and future of these iconic trees. We’ll cover what makes the Pinelands so ecologically extraordinary, how climate change and development are accelerating forest loss, and what we’re doing about it.

We’ll celebrate recent hard-fought victories — including the preservation of Black Run Preserve, Pole Bridge Forest, and Pomona Woods — and sound the alarm on a pressing crisis: the ongoing deforestation in Franklin Township that threatens to permanently alter the Pinelands landscape.

This isn’t just a talk. It’s a call to action. Attendees will hear specific ways to get involved — from broader advocacy for Pinelands preservation to direct action on the Franklin Township situation, where your voice is needed right now.

The trees can’t speak for themselves. We can. Join us.
