Description:
The plant, a member of the Cyperaceae family, grows in sphagnum bogs. The plant is tufted. The majority of the spikes are composed of female flowers, but a few male flowers are mixed in. Female flowers develop into fruits. Flowers and Fruit appear at the same time, from early to mid summer.
