The Batona Trail – Walking Path of the Pines

The Batona Trail is one of the longest trails in New Jersey, covering 53 miles of forests and wetlands in New Jersey’s Pinelands National Reserve. Constructed in 1961 by the Ba – To – Nature (Batona) hiking club this trail traverses the Pinelands from north to south. Learn more about the trail and how to plan your next hike from Diane Mason and Rosemarie Mason of the Outdoor Club of South Jersey. They will take you on a virtual tour and share highlights and favorite spots like Batsto Village, Apple Pie Hill and Tea Time Hill, the Drunken Hobbit Bridge in the Franklin Parker Preserve section, Pakim Pond and Ong’s Hat at the northern terminus.
Free for current members of the Pinelands Alliance. $10 / person for nonmembers.
