Trips Served by Pinelands Adventures:

Batsto River – Quaker Bridge to Batsto Village

The lower Batsto River from Quaker Bridge to Batsto Lake (near Batsto Village is a good trip for paddlers of all ability levels. However, changing river conditions can make it moderately challenging depending upon the paddler’s level of experience and physical condition. This trip takes about 4 hours depending on speed and skill level. Like many of the Pine Barrens rivers, it’s twisting course reveals surprises around each corner. Sharp turns combined with the current can make it challenging and fun. Good for canoeing as well as kayaking. The river is served by Pinelands Adventures at Atsion. Very nice river with great spots to stop and picnic or cool off during the summer. As you get closer to Batsto, the river begins to widen before entering a wide shallow marshy area and lake.  Visit Pinelands Adventures for details on Batsto River canoeing and kayaking.

Mullica River – Atsion to Locks Bridge to Pleasant Mills

Kayaking and canoeing is a truly incredible experience on the Mullica River. You’ll move through narrow passages surrounded by tall cedar stands, navigate the twists and turns before the rivers opens to wider areas fringed with beautiful white and yellow flowers of the water-lily and purple flowers of pickerel weed. Pinelands Adventures offers a variety of trips on the Mullica River. The launch sites are right off of Rt. 206 across the street from Atsion Lake, or downstream at Locks Bridge below the beaver dam, with take-outs at Locks Bridge or Pleasant Mills. Depending on the segment you choose, this is a 2 to 8 hour day trip, or an overnight camping trip if you choose to camp at the Mullica campsite.
