Unique Plants of the Pines – Online Adventure

In order to continue operations during this time, Pinelands Adventures has developed a series of Online Adventures to bring New Jersey’s Pine Barrens to you with their most popular programs! These interactive programs last about an hour each. You’ll need to be ready to learn and have fun with a good internet connection.
Only green plants can make their own food. How do they accomplish such a feat? If humans could do that, think of the time and money we’d save! Join us to explore the unique traits all plants share. We take a virtual tour of the Pine Barrens to take a look at some of the common plants, some with uncommon abilities. This is a FREE program.
We’ll explore:
- Why is the Pine Barrens such a tough place for plants to make a living?
- What does it mean to be a carnivorous plant?
- Why (and how) would a plant eat an animal?
- Are there ways plants cooperate with one another?
