The Forks Historical Paddle – Pinelands Adventures

Pinelands Adventures is proud to offer The Forks Historical Paddle; a guided kayak paddling tour of both the Batsto and Mullica Rivers leading up to where they meet at The Forks. The colorful history revealed is only rivaled by its picturesque beauty. This is a 3-4 hour long tour, and is best for intermediate to experienced paddlers.

The confluence of the Batsto and Mullica Rivers, an area known as The Forks, stands out for its natural beauty. Bald eagles and osprey soar overhead as giant red bellied turtles and blue heron fill the waters below.

This area was home to a very different scene during the years of the American Revolution. Armed pirate ships anchored in hidden coves, privateers and smugglers held massive auctions of illegal goods, and army deserters and robbers hid in the pines and nearby swamps. Warehouses full of munitions and supplies waited ready for use by Washington’s army and the rebel cause.
