Take a tour of the historic home of Suningive, designed and built for Elizabeth C. White, the “Blueberry Queen”. The home has been preserved and slowly restored with the help of the Whitesbog Preservation Trust. This beautiful Craftsman home constructed in 1923 has unusual features and hidden treasures, unique fixtures and woodwork, garage and porches with 2nd and 3rd story views out over the cranberry bogs, her native pine barrens botanical garden, pond and woodland trails.

Historic Whitesbog Village is located in Brendan Byrne State Forest.  Whitesbog was the largest cranberry farm in New Jersey in the early 1900’s and is also the place where the highbush blueberry was first successfully cultivated.

The Whitesbog Preservation Trust leases Whitesbog Village from the State of New Jersey in an innovative partnership agreement that supports the Trust’s mission to restore, protect and enhance the land, historic sites and buildings and to provide educational materials and interpretive programs about the history, culture and natural environment of Whitesbog.
