Making Nature Accessible
April 6 @ 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm
Join our virtual Town Hall on April 6th at 7 pm to share your experiences and ideas, learn from others, and talk about how we can improve access to nature in and around New Jersey’s Pinelands National Reserve for individuals identifying as disabled.
The Town Hall will start with Michael Brower, an expert with Disability Rights New Jersey sharing information on the rights of people with disabilities and a short presentation by Eric Husta, Atlantic County’s Parks Director, on Estell Manor County Park, an example of a public nature preserve with good accessible options.
The heart of the Town Hall is a listening session and open discussion of challenges that people with disabilities face in getting into nature and sharing of ideas about how to improve access to natural places.
Closed captioning and ASL interpretation will be provided.
