History Hike – Whitesbog Preservation Trust
August 3, 2019 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Get your steps in while learning about the farm village and pioneering blueberry agricultural work of Elizabeth Coleman White. Hike will lead you through the Historic Village, visit Suningive, the worker’s cottage and other museums, buildings and farm landscapes that speak to Whitesbog’s heritage. $5.00 donation/person.
Historic Whitesbog Village is located in Brendan Byrne State Forest. Whitesbog was the largest cranberry farm in New Jersey in the early 1900’s and is also the place where the highbush blueberry was first successfully cultivated.
The Whitesbog Preservation Trust leases Whitesbog Village from the State of New Jersey in an innovative partnership agreement that supports the Trust’s mission to restore, protect and enhance the land, historic sites and buildings and to provide educational materials and interpretive programs about the history, culture and natural environment of Whitesbog.
