To provide high school social science and science teachers with a better understanding of the history, ecology, and public policy issues involving the million-acre New Jersey Pinelands National Reserve and to make available to participating teachers exemplary curricula and teaching resources about the Pinelands for use in their classrooms.

To be held at PPA's headquarters, the Bishop Farmstead in Vincentown, Southampton Township, and various field locations around the Pinelands
This event, sponsored by Pinelands Preservation Alliance, will feature a mix of classroom and field exercises designed to educate thirty invited participants about the unique cultural, historical and natural wonders of the New Jersey Pinelands. Located on the twelve acre grounds of PPAs new Bishop Farmstead headquarters, the program will offer educators a unique opportunity to learn about Pinelands plants and animals, folklore and folklife, water and land use management from recognized experts in a variety of fields. Public policy issues regarding the million acre Pinelands National Reserve will also be covered. Pinelands-related curricula, including many lessons and activities developed by New Jersey educators, will be presented.
$100, includes course, curriculum materials, Pinelands field guide, all lunches, snacks and transportation to field trips.
Registration deadline is June 20, 2008. Registration fee is due at time of registration.
