The Preservation Area is the most sensitive land use area within the Pinelands Preserve. Its ecosystems are the most fragile and therefore have the most restrictive use requirements to preserve them as close as possible to their original and everlasting features. The core of the Pinelands where permitted uses include cranberry and blueberry agriculture, forestry, recreation, and fish and wildlife management.
