Meadowlands
Meadowlands are large grassy plains. Plants such as broom-sedge live in treeless freshwater marshes known as savannas. Grasses dominate saltwater marshes, along with reeds, rushes, and sedges.Freshwater and salt marshes provide habitats for an array of plants and animals. Mammals, such as muskrats, live in the meadowlands. On their flight along the Atlantic flyway, waterfowl and shorebirds visit the meadows.
